A LIVING
LANDSCAPE HIKE
A LIVING LANDSCAPE HIKE
€42.00
On this circular hiking route we will explore the national monument site and landscape of Mamore Gap which has been shaped not only by natural processes but also by the people who have lived here.
As we ramble through this specular area we will look at the imprints left behind including a holy well and pilgrimage site; the ‘magic road’, a bottomless lake and a medieval boley or summer pasture area. We shall also explore the flora and fauna of the peat bogland.
During our lunch stop (morning tours) or snack break (afternoon tours) you will have time to soak in the views and chill out in this unique corner of the Wild Atlantic Way.
